Strategic Plan

Founded on the principles of affordable housing and community development, SCHFH seeks to address housing challenges in Sandusky County. The strategic plan, crafted collaboratively during the annual board retreat, reflects the organization's commitment to adaptability and innovation. It is from this strategic plan that our work will be based for the 2024-2026 calendar years.

This plan has four focus areas:

  1. Awareness
  2. Great Volunteer Experiences
  3. Resource Development
  4. Organizational Development 

  • -Identify key awareness talking points to use in communications.

    -Conduct an awareness PR campaign surrounding these talking points.

    -Enhance awareness with key stakeholders, including planned giving professionals, elected officials & faith communities.

  • -Formalize best practices including training & documentation of volunteer relationships.

    -Explore new volunteer experiences including wall builds, women & youth builds.

    -Apply for capacity building grant to generate new staff capacity for various roles.

  • -Host gala enhancing stakeholder relationships-include focus on acquiring new corporate partners, enhance an annual appeal & convert volunteers to donors.

    -Explore new potential programs including major gifts, social enterprises & recurring donors.

  • -Enhance annual review procedures- 360 evaluation for the Executive Director & salary comparisons

    -Explore hiring a build chair/construction manager & merger

    -Explore multi-family home development

    -Explore landholding options

    -Begin DE&I visioning
